However, the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning makes its way into the '5-second cars' variety. How? Due to its ability to go from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4.5 seconds at a top speed of 110 mph. The Ford Lightning is one of the fastest pickups of all time, AND it is an electric vehicle (EV). It didn't get its name for nothing.

How Fast Is The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning?

The first new Ford in seventeen years is the all-new Ford F-150 Lightning, but this is not an ordinary truck. Ford brings an elevated version of the F-150 with an electrifying appeal; as an all-electric vehicle (EV).

 

Some people might think that an electric vehicle can slow down performance; that is not true. The F-150 Lightning is one of the fastest trucks. To better understand how fast here are its specs:

F-150 Lightning EV: Power and Performance

You won't get slowed down due to the standard extended range battery with an 80A Ford Charge Station Pro. You can use the charging station to power up your F-150 Lightning with a peak charging power of 19.2kW. However, the length of charging varies on available packages. Therefore, not even the charging range will slow you down.

 

For reference, the  F-150 Lightning can receive up to 150 kW. To charge 15% to 80%, you can expect it to take less than an hour. You need the available extended battery and standard range pack; their times vary. The estimated EPA range is 320 miles on a single charge.

 

Cranford truck buyers can fully charge using the standard range battery, and a charge takes 14-hours and 19-hours with the extended range battery. To charge the F-150 Lightning EV faster, you need the optional 48-amp Ford Connected wall mount charge station and a 240-volt source. With a combination like that, you'll be able to charge your Lightning EV in 10-13 hours.

F-150 Lightning EV: Speed and Towing

Go from 0-60 in less than 4.5 seconds at a top speed of 110 mph. There is nothing but ease behind the wheel of this EV truck. The F-150 Lightning can tow too, so you can take your small boat, RV camper, and anything else you desire. Tow until your heart's content with a maximum towing capacity of 10,000 lbs. You need to have the Extended Range battery to reach full towing capabilities. However, the maximum payload with the primary battery pack is a standard 2,000 lbs. You can only go up from here.

F-150 Lightning EV: Entertainment and Safety

You can still order the Ford F-150 Lightning EV, but there is a limited production of 15,000. However, there is a waiting list that you can get your name on that is only getting longer by the minute.
