The 2015 Ford Mustang was already a good looking and pretty quick car, and now Roush, Saleen and Hennessey have gotten their hands on it to make three ridiculously awesome 2015 Mustang Editions. Two of the three have not only made appearance modifications, but also upped the power output as well.
Roush, for now at least, has decided to remain the tamest of the three 2015 Mustang Editions and sport some very attractive cosmetic changes. Saleen and Hennessey wanted to take it up a notch, on both appearance and power.
Race for the Roush
Feast your eyes on the 2015 Roush RS Mustang. The RS stands for Roush Sport and can be applied to the 3.7L Base Model (RS), the all-new EcoBoost model boasting 310 horsepower (RS Stage 1) or the much beefier 5.0L GT putting out 435 horsepower (RS Stage 2). Again, engine output doesn’t change for either version, but Roush could very well be in the works of that.
However, all three RS models get a new front and rear fascias, high-flow grilles, side sill extensions, a rear spoiler and many, many more Roush touches all over the car and the list goes on. In fact, the RS Stage 1 Mustang gets a performance exhaust system with quad pipes and the RS Stage 2 cars will have all of the above plus ridiculously attractive five spoke 20 inch “Quicksilver” wheels and Cooper RS3 performance tires.
Next of the 2015 Mustang Editions is the 2015 Saleen S302 Mustang, and it’s not playing around. Cosmetically, we don’t know much other than what we can see from the two renderings. However, we do know that the base S302, also known as the “White Label” Saleen is powered by the factory 5.0L V8 motor slightly tweaked to produce 450 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque.
When you go for the Yellow or Black Label Saleens, a supercharger is thrown in the mix and that’s where it gets real, putting out 640 horsepower and 565 lb-ft of torque. Choose between two transmissions: a six speed manual or a six speed automatic. As always, you have the choice of coupe or convertible, because choices are nice.
You always save the best for last, and it doesn’t get much better for the 2015 Mustang Editions than the Hennessey edition, power or appearance wise. In fact, the Hennessey edition of the 2015 Mustang Editions is ready to eat the Hellcat for breakfast. It boasts 717 horsepower and 632 lb-ft of torque thanks to the following modifications: Roots style supercharger, an upgraded throttle body, new fuel injectors, a new fuel pump and a revised exhaust system.
Yeah, we want one too. Unfortunately only 500 of these bad boys are going to be made, so if you want one, you need to jump on it!
