It’s The Little Things
The 2015 Ford Expedition has gotten itself a slight face-lift, now sporting 3 wide U-Shaped bars instead of the 4 horizontal bars, as always sporting the Ford Emblem in the center, available projector headlight lighting and new marker lights. As for below the grille, two chrome bars have been added, one being in-line with the available LED fog lights. Taking it to the back, a full-width chrome trim piece was added to the rear hatch door, just below the rear window and Ford emblem. Plus, it’s gotten even more sporty with a chromed tipped exhaust and redesigned wheels, including available 22 inch alloy wheels. Yeah, you’ll pretty much be the envy of all of New Jersey in the 2015 Ford Expedition.

Some added makeup to the exterior can’t even compare to the new interior of the 2015 Ford Expedition. The base of the 2014’s interior hasn’t been changed in the 2015, but the gauge cluster isn’t the same to start. Now with 4.2 inch LCD color screens, the gauges are now eye candy for every driver. Then you have your available 8 inch touchscreen for SYNC with MyFord Touch, and don’t even think about stopping the music in NJ with the 2015 Ford Expedition’s available 10 speaker, 700 watt Sony Audio System. As if that wasn’t enough to look forward to, seven color ambient lighting, Push To Start technology and a rear-view camera are also available. As for safety features, they’ve been enhanced as well, now including a Blind Spot Information System with cross traffic alert. Oh, and did we mention, there’s seating for 8, or up to 130 cubic feet of cargo space?
New Faces Coming to New Places: 2015 Ford Expedition Coming Soon to NJ
As far as models go, the 2015 Ford Expedition returns to New Jersey as the XLT, Limited and King Ranch with an addition. The Ford F-150’s famous Platinum series is now an available model in the 2015 Ford Expedition. Ford considers the Platinum model to be fresh and sophisticated, and has informed that the Platinum will be available in new Brunello leather, or red wine seats with tuxedo stripe accents and French Stitching, or as black leather with Argate Gray accents, and describes it as buttery- soft and smooth to the touch. Fresh and sophisticated eh? I won’t argue.
One Door May Close, But Another One Always Opens
The 5.4L 3V Triton V8, is no more in the 2015 Ford Expedition, coming soon to Summit, NJ. As depressing as that may all well sound, there is some good news to it. Ford’s famous 5.8L Triton V8 is being replaced in the 2015 Ford Expedition by Ford’s newly famous engine, the 3.5L twin turbo direct injected EcoBoost V6. Although exact numbers haven’t been released (way to keep us on the edge of our seats, Ford), it could be expected to be along the lines of the Lincoln Navigator’s EcoBoost, which puts out at least 370 horsepower and 430lbs-ft of torque. Regardless of what those numbers will actually be, it’s anticipated to be an improvement over the original 5.4L. On a happy note, the new 3.5L EcoBoost will be paired with the same 6 speed “SelectShift” automatic transmission the 5.4L had. And Don’t worry, Rear Wheel Drive may be standard, but 4 Wheel Drive is definitely optional! So, I’ll speak for all of us; Is the 2015 Ford Expedition available in Summit, New Jersey yet?!
“If the EcoBoost V-6’s performance in the F-150 is anything to go by, it should be more than up to the task of getting the big truck up to speed, even with a full load or a trailer in tow. Ford also promises that the new Expo will get better fuel economy than the current model’s 14 mpg city/20 mpg highway, although we should note that we haven’t always seen real-world efficiency gains with Ford’s EcoBoosted pickup trucks. Again, we shall see. Ford is estimating the max tow rating of the EcoBoosted Expedition at 9200 pounds.” -Car and Driver
Good Things Come To Those Who Wait.
Unfortunately it isn’t. But, we can expect to see it before the end of the year, and hopefully in the meantime, Ford will finally release the horsepower and torque of the new 3.5L EcoBoost among other details making us all itch. Until then, stay tuned with us at Salerno Duane Ford to find out when the 2015 Ford Expedition is in Summit, NJ!
